12 Unlikely Heroes

Mondays 7-9pm, March 6 – May 22
Annex #103

In Twelve Unlikely Heroes, uses his deep knowledge of the Bible and history to take us back to see these three-dimensional men and women in their own times and cultures. In doing so, it becomes clear how their dramatic stories apply to us today. People who might at first seem foreign quickly become familiar and unforgettable—particularly as they reveal the true Hero behind every witness, the power counterbalancing every weakness, “the Author and Finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1).

Follow Me

Wednesdays 7-8:30pm, March 22 -May 3
Annex #103

In Follow Me: A Call to Die. A Call to Live., Platt seeks to show whom we must take hold of. In order to live as authentic disciples, Platt believes we need an authentic encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, who He is, what that means, and to count the cost of truly following Him. Look afresh at the invitation Jesus offers, and discover perhaps for the first time, the joy and purpose that comes from abandoning your life to His.

“Redemption. The word is so familiar its meaning is often taken for granted. In everyday use it suggests recovery, repayment, rescue, or vindication. But what does it look like in real life with real people who are broken, wounded, or addicted?” –From the Introduction In this volume, pastor Mike Wilkerson interweaves the story of Israel’s exodus from Egypt with real-life stories of people broken by sin and addiction to show the depth of our redemption. Respectable Sins

Saturday, 10-11:15a, March 11- May 27
Annex #103

As Christians, we believe that all sins are considered equal in God’s eyes. Yet while evangelicals continue to decry the Big Ones—such as abortion, adultery, and violence—we often overlook more deceptive sins. It seems we’ve created a sliding scale where gossip, jealousy, and selfishness comfortably exist within the church. In short, some sins have simply become acceptable.
Bridges, believes that just as culture has lost the concept of sin, the church faces the same danger. Jerry writes not from a sense of achievement, but from the trenches of his own personal battles. Drawing from scriptural truth, he sheds light on subtle behaviors that can derail our spiritual growth. Throughout, Jerry encourages a victory over personal sin through the gospel’s transforming power, the perfect release for those who desire to thoughtfully examine their lives and discover a deeper walk with God.
